A five week old puppy threw one in a box!
Eddie Olivares was buying groceries at an Albertsons store in Arcadia, California when he discovered a shoe box next to trash cans. He could just pass by, but something told me to look inside.
When he opened the lid, he was very surprised: inside the box was a tiny puppy. It was surprising that the baby was still alive - it was a very hot day outside, 37 degrees, and there was not even water in his cardboard dungeon. In addition, the puppy's head and eyes were damaged.
Olivares contacted Piper Wood, the founder of the California rescue team, and asked him to help. As it turned out, the puppy was a Shih Tzu crossbreed between 4 and 5 weeks old.
“The puppy had blood on his head, his eyes were swollen - the dog was very weak. I don’t know the last time the baby ate or drank ... he had anemia and cramps, ”Wood said.
The puppy didn't even have teeth! Such a crumb is still vital to be with your mother!
No one saw who left the baby at the supermarket. The rescuer suggested that the breeder abandoned the puppy after the first started having health problems. “I know many such cases when people breed their dogs illegally. Pets are not kept in good conditions. People just make money from them, ”Wood said.
Olivares went with a puppy to the veterinary clinic. The veterinarian recommended immediate surgery on the injured eye - it was close to tearing and could cause serious complications.Given the fact that the baby weighed half a kilogram, it was risky to have surgery. But there was no choice ...
Fortunately, the puppy named Albert Einstein coped. After the operation, Olivares took Albert home, where the baby spent several days. They fed him with a syringe. Now the puppy is looking for a new home. “He is very calm, but shows his personality. The kid loves to eat, play with toys. Albert is very sweet, ”added Wood.
